Certified Translation

A Certified translation includes a statement from the translation company attesting that the translation is complete and accurate.

Such translations are required in business and immigration. Certified translations are often required for legal documents. There are different levels of certification, including notarization and apostille.

JR Language offers certified translation of documents for Spanish, German, Chinese, French, Russian, Portuguese, and Japanese, among 100 other languages. Our certified translations include immigration documents accepted by USCIS on a regular basis.

The translation of official documents includes a certificate, a seal, and the signature of a company official.

Certified translation Services are needed for foreign documents that are not in the language of the country where they will be presented: translations of birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, and many other official documents.

There is some confusion about the use of the term “certified translation” among the general public; the following phrases are used to request this service: “official translation of documents,” “USCIS certified translation,” and “official translation services.” Not to be confused with a notarized translation, which is a translation with a notary’s signature verifying the signer’s identity.

In the U.S. and in many countries around the world, birth and marriage certificates are common documents that people need to present to register in a school or get a passport. Even though a native-born U.S. citizen may not think much of these, a certified translation of these documents needs to be done when students and immigrants come to NYC from other countries to study or to live.
